YASH JOHAR
  A doyen of the Indian film industry, Yash Johar made his name with a masterful career in the Indian movie production scenario.

In a career that began in 1952, Yash Johar has been involved in the production units of a host of major Indian and foreign films, the latter of which include the productions of Fritz Lang and Arthur Ranks.
  
  This period also saw Yash Johar come into Ajanta Arts, which was the production unit of Sunil Dutt. Under the banner, Yash Johar became associated with movies like 'Mujhe Jeene Do' and 'Yeh Raaste Hai Pyaar Ke'. After this experience, Yash Johar was asked by Dev Anand to handle the entire production of his legendary film 'Guide', followed by more blockbusters from Dev Anand's Navketan Films such as 'Jewel Thief', 'Prem Pujari' and 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna'. Besides all these, Yash Johar also handled the production of Filmalaya's 'Love In Simla', IS Johar's 'Johar Mehmood In Goa' and Nasir Hussain's 'Jab Pyar Kissi Se Hota Hai'.
  
  1976 saw Yash Johar began a new phase in his career with the launch of his own film banner, Dharma Productions Pvt. Ltd., which became Dhrama Productions, a proprietorship concern, in 1995. This banner soon created a global presence with the internationally successful 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. With this film, Yash Johar received the prestigious Indian National Award from the President of India in 1999 for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. The global success of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was followed up by 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' and 'Kal Ho Na Ho', two more films that were successful in a similar vein.
  
  Apart from working on his own films, Yash Johar has also worked as an Associate Producer (India) for Baloo Productions 'Jungle Book', a venture by Walt Disney, which was shot extensively in India in 1994. Following this venture, Dharma Productions has also worked as a Production Service Company for Walt Disney in 'The Last Dance' (1995) and 'Armageddon' (1998).
  
  Besides being a movie producer, Yash Johar also holds various other titles of different movie associations like Member of the Managing Committee of Film Producers Guild of India Ltd., and Treasurer of the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers.

Yash Johar is also the Honorary General Secretary of Film Industry Welfare Trust and Member of United Producers Forum, which is an exclusive committee of fourteen of India's top movie producers and directors.
